The biggest problem with the modern internet is that it has ceased to be a means of communication. Google, Meta, and their ilk have turned the computer network into new television: commerce, advertising, propaganda - all of this should be in separate, isolated streams, rather than at the core of the internet. The main direction for reviving the internet is to increase resistance to censorship! No governments or religions should have the capabilities to restrict communications, manipulate information, and incite conflicts! Only then will the internet become a service that connects people again!
